A while back I posted about 1Tb disks and I had bought 2 at a good price then. I installed one in the Mac Pro for a Time Machine backup and was going to use the other for a mirror of that ....
Well I never got around to mirroring the image and the other day the Mac Pro started to Abend. Turns out the 1TB drive went bad and every time Time Machine started up the machine would crash. Now I've lost my backups
So now I have a bad drive I need replaced and it has ALL my data on it. I just cant bring myself to taking this drive to Fry's for replacement so I guess I'll be contacting Seagate. I need to find out the best method for replacement/repair and insuring my data doesn't go somewhere I don't want it to go...
Does anybody have experience with Seagate's warranty repair process? |

There repair service should be fine ..... usually they will give you an rma # and then replace the drive if it's still in warrenty. If you can slave the drive into another pc (or an external enclosure) and pull the data off manualy. |
