The dogs were being frisky this morning....

All captures with an Axis210 network camera, set to motion detection.

We took the Golden to my brother's for Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised she did very well. She got along with all the people and the three other dogs that were there. (she tends to be a nervous girl so I was hesitant to bring her) Here she is in their yard where she discovered a huge bone belonging to my brother's dogs. She was very thrilled, and stayed outside for quite awhile in that snow enjoying it. (I owe my brother's dogs a bone now, oops) Ahh, to be a dog with simple pleasures.

I missed the first hawk in flight during the show, but when I realized that they were setting up for another flyer, I switched to AI Servo, and managed to capture these. Click on these tiny images for larger versions.

This owl weighs about three pounds and has a wingspan of almost six feet.

Here is the back door to my patio and pool:

There is a room without glass windows we call the BeachHouse, and right above the doorway, a pair of cardinals has settled in and built a nest with all my orchid roots. Yay! They made attempts in prior years, though only in the Spring, and always abandoned building it under my aluminum roof because a) it's hot near the top and b) that's where all the second hand smoke goes. (No Smoking in the House) I don't know why they are mating in the Summer, can't believe they are tolerant of all the human activity. They must be desperate.

Here's the Mama tail:

And here's the Mama Face:

Mama is not pleased.

I think she already laid the eggs. So there may be a follow-up in 23 days.

I will call her Claudia Cardinale. I haven't seen the male in a few days but he will be Jacques Chirac....
