Hide-a-bed

bought and cut some waferboard to fit and attached it to the hide-a-bed frame with plumber's tape and wood screws. works very well.

Wow. With the flimsy metal frames sans the plywood those things are heavy enough. I would imagine the total weight of that behemoth has increased to 1.2 tons Question Very Happy

An infinite number of monkeys pounding away on keyboards will eventually produce a report showing that Windows is more secure and has a lower TCO, than linux.

nah... used 7/16" thick waferboard... it added about another 80% of the mattress in weight. next time it gets moved, just take the mattress out first. Very Happy

I'd say the increase of weight is well worth the improvement in sleep. Having slept on one of those and had the metal bar in your back all night really sucks. Remember that Seinfeld episode with a fold out couch and everyone that slept on it was screwed up the next day?

Great idea Slymer!

nah... necessity is the mother of riggin' it. leisure is the mother of invention. gotta have down time to think up this kinda stuff (or other people that have a version of it that you can make better like I did)

and yes... laid on it to test it... lays very well... nice and firm... didn't break it in though. We'll leave that for the next guest we have overnight.

it's in the living room and the cat likes to get in the blinds when people are around... so I didn't feel like giving the outside world a free show.

Um...weak answer. Put the cat in another room (ie garage/bathroom) and test the darn thing...shouldn't take more than a few minutes... Blush SmileShocking SmileTongue Smile

Besides that...if you did git video taped...you might make it on YouTube... Wink SmileBig Smile Just watch out fer that murfCAT...he likes to do those kinds of things... Shocking SmileBlush Smile

I won't get into TMI... so I'll just say that it would take longer than the cat would accept and said room that cat would be shut up in would be none the better for it. that cat DOES NOT like closed doors within the house (already dug up the carpet under the closet door and the cat is declawed up front too.)
