I run my personal domains on GoDaddy.

I moved a test domain to godaddy over the weekend.

I don't like the lack of control you get (lose?) from their web gui, but all in all it's ok.

Good Luck,

Most of the Website hosts that were once reliable are now gone its like trying to find a company to invest money in or stock that is going to grow....

I remember belonging to about 5 such so called will last forever websites , but when money gets tight on company's there prices raise and there service is terrible..... You have to remember this unless you plan to buy a CISCO and put about 10,000 dollars in it and call AT&T ask for a dedicated line trunk....

Then forget it the Tech business is in a huge loss... Except for maybe DELL and ACER.....

My Dad works for Quest which is a old Mountain Bell company..

He know installs fiber optics he could tell you first hand how many company's here in Colorado have gone belly up.....

Which ones are losing people those that can't pay there bills... He has to disconnect service or down grade service..... Such as IBM... and NASA here in the Boulder , Colorado area have stopped using so many high service lines..... REMAX and even Phoenix University has down graded there service... Which spells trouble for these company's...

My dad says once you begin to offer less communication to there service this spells less sales and less phones at there desks....

My dad says this even leads to Quest losing people in departments and cut hours....

The other factors to consider were mentioned above with your time and Cost.... By other peoples posts....

I to have great ideas of services to be offered ,but really do you think people would spend the time and money to look them up not really....

They want it quick and easy... Just like love....

If they get disappointed no big deal....

well, I've been pretty pleased over the years with thinkhost. Definitely not the cheapest folks out there but, the service/support has always been top notch on those rare occasions when I have needed to open a service ticket. Downtimes have been few and far between and they are always good at telling me in advance when they are planning any server upgrades that might require a brief outage to install.

Thinkhost...

Seems reasonable ,but so much space at such a small price what is powering this database and were is the space coming from would be more of my concern...

But, they are far cheaper then I've seen from web hosts and space available...

Loads of space for the price a bit concerning see how a hard drive with that capacity would run about 400 + there is a catch there... not sure what ....

This might be a Fortune 500 company offering this to make up for lost revenue......

Nothings for free in this country....

Well you found a great deal...

What do they say about data loose and what are they willing to do.....

later.....

Interesting Smile

Anybody have any experience in using a VPS/VDS solution for webhosting?

I've been with 1and1 for awhile now, not sure exactly how long... but it was within a month of you losing your stuff Olive. At least a year if not more I think. I have never had my site go down unexpectedly.

A lot of my clients have done that and seem quite happy as well. Are you a shared account or managed/dedicated?

I'm on a shared, hosting 3 domains.
