Am I the only one that is experiencing a performance hit with AVG 8.0 free edition?
So far it seems bloated to me |

only if win32s will support it enough, but I severely doubt it. (Ok, so I've tried it and no, it doesn't work)
would be kewl though
and I've experienced a BIG performance hit with version 8. the biggest problem is when I open any multimedia directory with files over 100meg as the average. It bloody scans each one, each time. AVG advertises that it's faster than version 7... umm... NOPE! |

sounds more like a configuratuion issue.
disable scanning of all files under resident shiled? if that doesn't work try adding the directory to the exceptions list.
I've been using 8 since release and could not be happier. |

also have the issue of boot-up (locks up explorer so that no other systray icons will show up until it's icon is loaded) unless I give the computer 3-5 minutes to think about it... only had to wait about 20 seconds with version 7. I'll try disabling scanning of all files and see what happens though.
edit: it's already unchecked. |
