I am trying to create a link to our FTP site from a company intranet site. A login is required to access the intranet site, so I would like to have the login info embedded into the link to our FTP, if possible. Does anyone have any experience with this? |

And have your password in the address bar for folks to see over your shoulder? If you insist...
Construct your URL like so:
ftp://username:password@ftp.example.com/folder |

Is there a way to bounce it through something so that the user can't see the password? |

Yeah, enable the anonymous login on the ftp server then, just like any other file-system, you can allow each user access to only what they need. |

Maybe I should have explained a bit better originally.
This isn't for my personal use. This is to grant managers access to the ftp site. We want them to be able to access it from the intranet website, but from nowhere else. I guess that CMTG's solution would work, because the username and password is only flashed up for a bit, and most people don't know how to access ftp on their own anyway... |

If the user clicks on an undecorated link to your FTP server, they are prompted for their user id and password by the browser anyway. What's wrong with that? |
