Post Posted: Fri Apr 18, 2008 2:37 pm   Post subject: Help with loading XP and Vista to Dual BOOT - Please? Reply with quote Back to top

My new system is almost ready to load and I want to be able to dual boot Windows XP and Vista. I haven't installed any software on my hardware yet - looking for advice.

Most of my applications
Adobe Elements
Corel Draw
various small older apps will still need Win XP to run without a major headache.

software
Ordered new OEM editions of XP Professional SP2 and Vista

hardware is
XFX nForce 680i LT SLI mobo
Intel Core 2 Quad Q 6600 Processor
2.46 Ghz, 4x2MB,1066MHzFSB

all the other usual suspects....Is a procedure that anyone recommends? any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Lots of good guides on the net for doing this.

Why anyone would voluntarily choose to run Vista is beyond me but, if you're that masochistic, consider using Virtual PC or similar to run XP inside Vista, if dual-booting proves to be a headache.

Actually I am running Vista and I have had a few problems but with a little research those issues were resolved and I am actually enjoying my Vista install Razz

Thanks anubis.

Some of my software just doesn't do well on Vista and I am networked with my sweeties' office for the majority of the hardware where drivers are an issue. It is just easier to have both for now. (or not, lol! )

Thanks guys.
