If your a muscle car kind of guy, The Dukes of Hazzard should hold a special place in your heart! Edmunds has a great story with excellent pictures and videos documenting the restoration of the very first General Lee. It's the car used in the very first jump & can be seen in the opening credits of every show.

The end result looks very nice. Makes me wish I had one (and the 30G's it'd take to get it to that condition) |

Somtimes you have to look at automotive restoration with a grain of salt.
How to restore a car:
Step 1 - remove VIN plate from old junked car; crush whatever is left over.
Step 2 - purchase a 'Year One' catalog for the make/model of car you are restoring.
Step 3 - purchase every part in the catalog
Step 4 - Assemble the parts
Step 5 - Paint the assemblage with some shiny paint
Step 5 - Install VIN plate from donor car
Tadaa! |

I wouldn't put it past most guys, however this story seems genuine. Edmunds is a reputable site, you would think they would do their homework before doing a story on a fraud. |

looks like all the original parts are just a couple pieces of glass and about 500 pounds of metal and some of the engine parts.
I wish I had the bank to just buy a nice car and bore out and sleeve the cylinders with titanium and then just buy transmissions as necessary. But that's another idea for another time. |

I wish I had the money to let some one else worry about all that for me, I'd just pass them a wad of cash and tell them I want to go fast. |
