I keep getting "could not connect to work server" since I just finished a WU.
Tried restarting, reinstalling etc.
Not sure what else to do.
(Win XP using 5.03 client) |

the server is prolly down or overloaded... give it time... it'll fix itself (or the stanford folx will give it a sound fixing and it will be up again anyhow) |

I know that SETI has a server status page, but couldn't find one for folding.

You should be okay that the work isn't lost AnalogKid. Did you happen to change the settings? Make sure you answer NO to the IE question?
You didn't mention which server - was it 171.64.65.64? if so then ping said server.>
Can you ping server 171.64.65.64?
If you type/paste/click this address with IE, do you get the OK message? http://171.64.65.64:8080 If not, try a tracert to that address. Where did it fail? |

AK can you post your log file? if the assigned server is down the client will try to use .100 instead. either way the unit should eventually go.... looks like a few are down. |

I just read the latest posts on the F@H forums and if you are having problems with the server I posted above: 171.64.65.64 , I imagine that it is swamped with a backlog of system time generated dial-ins that were waiting for it while it was down, plus a whole crap load of dial-ins of people trying to upload in a panic due to expiration times on their WUS
...not to mention the usual boat load of people "send all" flags uploading one-units just because they want them off of their machines.
I hope the unit was sent while you were at work - I'll check back in on ya.   |
