Ok...my google-fu sucks and I can't for the life of me find an explanation. Assume you have a network setup as such:
Host>>switch>>router<<switch<<server
Can anyone explain to me, or point me to something that explains, the life of an ethernet frame as it travels from host to server through the various inter-connecting hardware? Like, how (if) the frame is modified at each location, assuming it is carrying an IP packet.
I just can't find anywhere that explains this. |
