My hockey pool sucks It really is a place where good players come to die.
We have 18 player teams. Players on my team who have missed more than 5 games due to injury:
- Jonothan Toews
- Tim Connolly (Twice)
- Dan Cleary
- Willie Mitchell
- Alexei Ponikarovsky
- David Legwand
- Richard Zednik
This doesn't include the numerous occasions where players missed a game or two due to something small like the flu.
Players on my team who have suffered season ending injuries:
- Patrice Bergeron
- Shawn Horcoff
At one point, I had five centerman, and four of them were injured. I was short at center, so I traded Thomas Kaberle for Legwand and Craig Rivet. In the first game that I had Legwand he injured his ankle. Two weeks later, the same night Legwand played his first game back from the ankle injury Ponikarovsky was injured and is still out. Toews missed nearly a month due to a knee injury, and the same night he comes back, Dan Cleary takes a puck in the face, and is out for a few weeks with a broken jaw.
Needless to say, I'm not doing to well in the standings - 14th out of 20.
I guess that's what I get for naming my team "The Hartford Whalers". |
