The markets in Camden are really cool... Hopefully the firefighters will get the blaze under control asap - would be really sad if the area got badly damaged..

Doesn't look like anyone got hurt.
And now the developers can "rebuild" it and raise the rents like they have in most of the rest of Camden.
The markets in Camden began as low budget counter culture inexpensive places for artists to sell their stuff. It became popular, and a destination for tourists and so now the Council want to let the developers in to make it all more "profitable" thus killing what made it unique.
This has been done to Carnaby St. in Central London and in Neil Street.
Neil Street East, a shop that defined the area was driven out of business by the rent hikes.
Sooooo.... another piece of Camden will never be the same. |
