With Apple os's no running on Intel, is it possible to have OS X run on PC hardware? I'd liek to try the OS since WIndows annoys me greatly, but I'm not up for paying a premium on Apple hardware. |

What apps do you need that you can't run in Linux? |

I'll second that question |

Mostly games. Bowl Bound, OOTP, LOTRO, WoW, Europa and Crusaders Kings. That's right off the top of my head. I think most of those have Mac variants. |

I'll second that question
for me it would be hardware related...
- ATI TV Wonder Elite (theatre 550pro chip) haven't found a solution that actually works for capture or even watching TV.
- Microtec Slimscan C3 USB flatbed scanner (older than dirt scanner still works great... in windows) sane no worky with this one.
and then same as creed... games and a few apps... Need For Speed Underground, Tron 2.0, The Print Shop 10.
the rest of the stuff I run in windows either has a better version in linux, a lerning curve that won't quit, or is a pain in the ass to install because of the obscure repositories (non-free codecs in fedora... easier in Ubuntu... like getting mp3s to play and actually display the correct time for vbr encoded mp3s) I favor audacious for playing mp3s, but I've actually used winamp through wine and it actually worked better (just lost the title bar on the main window)
I think I'll try to dualboot this thing again one of these days... I think that would be the easiest solution for me currently. |
