Is it just me or has this site been really slow lately? Particularly when you hit the "Active Topics" link at the top. It's like MySQL hasn't been optimized on the server, or there is a huge load from other shared sites.

Yeah, I've noticed it as well. Seems to be getting slower as time goes on. I assumed it was related in some way to some of the things Tyme and Rex posted about in the Beta test thread.

nope... it's network issues at the host. one of the hops is dropping packets like a bad habbit

Looks like Mzima or Looney finally kicked over the bad router. It certainly looked like a gateway was losing packets. My 10 minute tests were returning 90% dropped packets.

yeah ever since tyme made the last updates its been Slow....... must be all the birthdays bogging down the server....

I did some db checking. The server itself is quite happy, but it seems we've got some mysql config issues. I will work on some tuning. In the short term I flushed the query cache, that should help for a few days.
