Nintendo has announced they will discontinue hardware support on the Famicom October 31, 2007, 24 years after it was released.

Who knew it was still supported? Shocked

Yep, one of the best things about it. You can download tons of older games (for a fee) and play them on the Wii. If you turn the wii controller sideways it works like an orginal NEW controller. They also have a plug in for it like the SNES controller for genesis, turbo grafix 16, and SNES games.

Yeah, but it's a real rip-off. The games are way too expensive. You're better off with ROMs and a good emulator... or find an old Nintendo system on eBay. The thing was build like a tank.

I don't know, it's $5 for a NES game, up to $10 (I think) for some of the other systems. It doesn't seem to pricey to me for a legal copy of a game I can run on a modern console, with a wireless controller.
