Yes but from what I understand GW:EN is just a continuation of the storyline, and won't add nearly as much gameplay as Nightfall and Factions did - I'm definitely picking it up, but it doesn't seem like it'll consume too much time... Hopefully anyway.

Don't buy an IDE optical drive. IDE is going the way of the dodo. You want a SATA drive like the LiteOn LH-20A1S or LH-20A1L or the Samsung SH-S183L or SH-202B.
Ah, I didn't even look at SATA optical drives, I just assumed they'd be more expensive and I wouldn't get any better performance from it, but for $3 you're right, I might as well.
Also, for whatever reason this motherboard has only ONE IDE channel, so I think they are phasing our IDE already. |

A: Chuck Norris can hear it.

For just $40 more, you probably want to get 2x1GB of DDR2-800 rather than only 2x512MB.

I understand GW:EN is just a continuation of the storyline, and won't add nearly as much gameplay as Nightfall and Factions did. GW:EN, as an expansion rather than a stand-alone chapter, will feature content for level 20 characters of the 10 existing professions. There will be no low-level training area and no new professions.
The additional emphasis on title tracks for the Hall of Monuments (as a way to transfer your leet-ness from Guild Wars to Guild Wars 2) and the new Charr, Norn and Asura reputation tracks should add plenty to do.
I was actually on-schedule to achieve protector titles in Tyria, Cantha and Elona before GW:EN arrived, but ArenaNet gave us hard-mode for vanquishing and guardian titles and they gave us SunSpear and Luxon/Kurzick skills just in the past couple of months. That's a huge amount of additional content this summer, at no charge. |

Actually I ended up getting 2GB of memory for only like $10 extra, after $40 MIR.
Since titles carry over I guess I should keep playing Guild Wars - I'm pretty damned close to a maxed out skill hunter title.
Actually, the guild I'm in is pretty much dead - all the good players have gone off to do other things (except for one, who'd probably follow me to any other guild I join since we're really good friends). |
