Is this what you are talking about? There is no date on the article but I guess it is current...
I hope everyone is ok... Sounds bad - traffic backed up from road works, falling on a park... Dang. |

just the first 3 words freaked me out... but then I read mississippi instead of trinity... right... not the texas 35W, the MN 35W... Major glad you're ok though. Feel sorry for the 3 that are rumored to be dead and the dozens injured... glad all the kids on that bus were generally ok.
and yes, the freaked out expression that beaker has in that avatar is very fitting. |

watching the web coverage as it's posted on the local myfoxdfw... they have links to the vids from the myfoxtwincities... just watched the one with the guy from a company that investigates these types of events... I like having knowledgeable people talk about events instead of the reporters trying to guess. much more informative that way.
I know this much... traffic will REALLY suck around there. I hope those that survived have a speedy recovery. |

I've read a few places now that this was not a terrorist act...
but if it were, christ, access to that bridges under belly is not hard to get... any one who can climb even a little can get up in the trusses that were underneith it... and with a span as long as it had, wouldn't take much to bring the whole thing down...
Mndot should have had the traffic cams on the bridge (at least one of them) just before it went... I'm supprised that footage hasn't been leaked yet... especailly since they have feeds to the major news outlets for that... guess no one was recording...
still alittle unreal that it is a place I know, that is in all of these headlines... a place I could jump on my bike and be at in less then 10 minutes...
All the cams for MN were down just after it happened, guess the web traffic was probably hitting them a bit hard... |

Ok, I'm hearing that this had something to do now with the crew that was resurfacing. Somebody told me that a jackhammer in the wrong place was to blame.
While I think that this sounds crazy I was hoping that someone could verify.
While I don't know you Angla... I have been around here long enough to know where you live and I live close enough here in Grand Forks, that I couldn't help but worry about you and everyone else I know who lives down there in the cities. Glad to hear that you're OK. I know I've been over that bridge before myself. It's one of those things that you take for granted until it crashes, then it seems really freaky. An understatement, I know. |

I seem to recall, through the weekend's alcoholic haze, that we were discussing construction/engineering mishaps, one example being where the plans were flawed but the construction crews followed them precisely.
Could this be something like that? |
