The person wasn't the focus of the shot, but the shot wouldn't be anything worthwhile without the person, so I threw this in here. That, and it's the best picture I've taken for a while, and the first time I've had a chance to participate...

I took this picture above Echo Lake in Acadia National Park. My wife didn't realize that I was there; after she heard the camera she turned around and asked why I had just taken a picture of her ear. Thankfully, this picture came out exactly as I had intended it to, because she didn't trust me to try a second time...

I really like that shot - normally I hate having people in my photo *unless of course I'm taking a photo of people!* but I really like having her face at the edge of the image like that.

I think the face helps because it puts the sizes in the image in perspective. Gives it more depth and helps you feel both how high up you are and how big the view is.

Totally agree - and exactly what I wanted to say but with my son (in my photo) had be running up and down the stairs so couldn't think straight.
