Well...this will be ongoing... one day, one picture... probably.
except for tomorrow...or so...depending on how tired I am, or how early I wake up before anyone else wakes up.

So it begins

Devil's Tower, Wyoming....

We did the 1.3 mile hike around the tower. It was a great hike, the shade hits in all the right times. You can see the wooden pegs in the side from one point. Afterwards, we headed to lunch at a local place. Great food too!

The vacation of no fast food...is it possible....we'll find out!

Tonight...sleeping in Rapid City. Tomorrow...Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Wind Cave, or some other cave..there's lots of caves. (and the Alpine Slide...shhh!)

You didn't find the secret alien airstrip while you were there, did you?

Wink

Looks like fun. Nice to see you smiling.

Rah, make sure you see Rushmore FIRST. Crazy Horse is so big and amazing that it makes Rushmore seem insignificant if you see if after. That's my 5 cents.

If you stop at the Lantern while you're at Rushmore, check the giftshop there. A friend of mine should be working one of the registers. If you see Chelsea, tell her sully said hi.

Well, day 2 happened.

Up first Crazy Horse! I see Goddess says I should see it 2nd...hrm. I drove past Mount Rushmore the other day, so, I guess technically I saw that first..

After spending some time with the Mountain, we decided to head to Wind Cave National Park for our caving experience. It's dark inside a cave, and a flash really only made me visible..hrmph.

After the Wind Cave walking tour, we headed for some lunch! I had pulled pork. I keep meaning to recall the names of the places I eat at...but, that's not happening. Food was good, again. It was around 3 when "lunch" was had.
After Lunch it was back up for Mount Rushmore tour. It's also quiet impressive. Someone made me walk around some loop with 42,039,482 stairs...

...this was taken at the end of that, and I needed a nap, but I settled for some raspberry soft serve ice cream instead.

Since vacation isn't all just seeing sights, but also having some fun... we headed to the Alpine Slides. I even conned convinced Krbs to go up and ride down! But, you only get to see my face! HA!

After the, fun we waited a while and went to see the laser light show at Crazy Horse. I highly recommend coming back for that! It was "free" since I had already been there earlier in the day!

You almost make me want to throw the wife and kids in a car and go for a sightseeing trip.

That is of course if I could do it without spending hours on the road with the wife and kids in the car.

Frist, some jackass left the battery charger and second camera battery in Rapid City...20 miles out side of Wall, SD... so back I had to go to get the precious battery charger....

That's not the only snafu on the vacation, the GPS's main cradle is broken as well, but it still works fine..just..no cradle, and no cool seat mount Sad Ohwell....now we're back to "normal"..

First stop of the day was for Breakfast in Wall Drug!

I had Biscuits and Gravy and juice. It was good...then we roamed around and headed out for Mitchell.

we made it to the Corn Palace! Did you watch the Corn Palace Webcam and see me?

I looked like that. I swear!

up next was..um...well, I'm on vacation with Krbs and her daughters..and who would of thunk to put a Doll Museum next to something cool like the Corn Palace?!
This freaky ass doll is located in the Museum.

along with 5,000 some odd other dolls. Maybe it was 50,000.
So I took this nice self portrait for posterity before the freaky doll attacked me.

That's it for today...time to sleep here before the Mall of America tomorrow!
