yeah, M$ has done a lot of annoying things in their long history . . and the /s was just the latest (prior to XP)

Thanks for the fantastically detailed instructions on how to make a boot disk. I need a Windows ME boot disk to update my BIOS. I've followed your instructions step by step, but the only problem is this still doesn't leave enough space on the disk to put my new BIOS files. The BIOS files take up 767KB of space, and your original files take up 780KB. Are there any non-essential files I can delete to free up more space? If not, can you think of any alternative way to update the BIOS?

The bare minimum you need to boot to a command prompt is IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS and COMMAND.COM. You can delete everything else.

I just use two floppies. I have one boot disk made using the article, and a second floppy with the flash program and BIOS image. After booting, just switch disks, and falsh your BIOS.

hello everyone, Im havin the same problem as ASKEN did with makeing a boot disk for wme and I read everthing u suggested to him and my cd roms that are on my puter are LG CD-RW CED-8080B and a PIONEER DVD-ROM DVD-115 and both are just standard cd rom devices. and I have tried both strings for the config.sys and Im still getting errors can anyone help....PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
