Who else has a fairly fast connection just to get their ass creamed while playing online games Question
I get 500K+ downloads, Web pages load fairly fast, mail screems in way fast but my game play spikes something feirce!!!!! I get pings of about 113 in UT but it will spike to 400+ and Red jack.. Damm I feel like punchin out my monitor sometimes!!!! But I know that would result in a broken hand and another $300.00+ for a new screen....
I just had to vent... Sorry... Maybe I should have done this in RANTS!!!!!!!

what are you running during game sessions beside the game?

And have you tweaked your connections to max the bandwidth

You have nooooo idea how many mice I have broken by slamming them down in my desk... must be about 50 now...

I have ran the Reg patch. But they told me they this connection bursts data and does not stream to well. Thats what I think the problem is..
I shut all nonessentials down as far as I know.. Seti is the big hog on my system..
Game runs fine but I RED JACK and ping shoots up to 300-600+.
Nothing like spanking some D00D and Pow i'm dead...

Have you tried the tweak tests at http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks? run the test and download Dr TCP/IP. I used it's suggestions and speeded up my connection quite a bit.

Im wondering if your not getting into a ping war. Ive seen that little trick way too often on internet games. And if you're not looking at it, you;ll never know that some lamer is pinging you to death and slowing you down

I watch the activity on my modem and it goes blank sometimes.. I don't know, It's just frustrating that I pay $49.95 a month and I have to deal with this... Other than that I have no complaints about the service...Oh, It's Sprint Wireless Broadband by the way...
I have no other alternative by the way...

Dude, you just hit the nail on the head! The key word was "wireless". Wireless networks are great for file sharing and web browsing but they induce way too much latency. Get your self on a 'wired' network at your first oppurtunity, you will see a world of difference.

my disfunction is that I like to grab the keyboard and snap it across my knee

i finally learned my lesson after the hassle i had the last 2 times replacing the damn thing with one exactly like it . . .

the lesson i learned was that whenever i find any of then in stock someplace I buy all of then I can get my hands on [Sticking out Tongue]

damn M$ is gettig rich off my inability to play games

I am on a wireless and my ping is STEADY 80 on most games. I never get any spikes. I would have to say wireless is not spikey from my perspective.
