The following definitions are given as an addendum to the Forum Rules and serve to define acts which will be considered as abusive on this site.
Abuse of the site and forums will at the very least earn a ban on the account, and depending on the severity of the abuse, a complaint to the relevant ISP, legal authorities and may also include publication of the abusive act as a deterrent to others.
Internet/Computer abuse as it relates to this site includes:
1. Invasions of Privacy
a) These are not public forums. Access to these forums is granted to you provided that you abide by the Forum Rules. Even if you have not registered for membership on these forums, your use of the website means that you agree to abide by the Forum Rules. Use of information gathered in these forums in order to violate the privacy of forum members is abusive and such acts can be referred to legal authorities.
b) Furnishing false or misleading information in order to gain access to another person's account on the forums is an abuse of privacy and is a criminal offense.
c) Attempts to access any part of the website without permission or authorization are considered to be abuse of the service. This includes the forums, picture gallery, the webserver software itself, ftp sites and mail services, as well as any protected directories on the hosted domain.
Please note that if you are a registered member of the forums you have been granted access to a specific set of forums and galleries. As a member you may (or may not) be granted access to other forum topics and galleries, with the permission of the site administration.
d) Unauthorised attempts to manipulate any part of the website's code base in order to circumvent data protection or gain access to unauthorised sections of the website is criminal abuse of a computer system under California state (CC 499j), and United States Federal law (8 U.S.C. § 1030).
2. Theft of Services
a) Attempted or detected unauthorized alteration of software, data or other files as well as disruption or destruction of equipment or resources is considered theft.
b) Unauthorized copying of data for inclusion on other sites without the permission of the poster or LWD is considered theft.
c) Use of the forums by script based forum posting software to post unsolicited advertisements is considered theft of services.
d) Unauthorised use of the mail server is considered a theft of services.
These offenses are subject to California law (Criminal Code Section 499j) and will be referred to the appropriate authorities.
3. Vandalism
a) The use of LittleBlackDog.com resources to distribute malware, copyright protected software, or any other illegal distribution, is considered abuse of services.
b) Any so-called Denial of Service attack on the domain is considered a theft of services, vandalism of a server, and abuse under 8 U.S.C. § 1030.
c) Unauthorized tampering with the domain metadata (domain registration information, name service data), host software, forum and gallery data, mail server configuration data, or any host configuration software on the domain is considered vandalism, as well as theft of services.
d) Receipt of unsolicited commercial advertising via the mail server, postings in the forums, or via comments in the galleries, will be considered to be vandalism (defacement), theft of services, and is abuse of a computer system. |
