I had a blonde moment, or perhaps a blonde week.

Ah so that was you. I could have told you the mail names. Admins can do that. And I could have activated your account. Ah well.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take care of these two.

*@bk.ru now banned due to multiple registered spammer accounts.

No, but moyareklama.info just got added to the ban list too, as it persistently re-registers itself and is most definitely a spammer.

And speaking of moyareklama.info...

The following blocks added to perma-ban - rtcomm.ru owned blocks, used extensively by the Kuvayev/Badcow gang, Ruslan Ibragimov, totalling 8 Spamhaus ROKSO records and 27 SBL listings (including today's persistent script spammer).

81.176.*.*
81.177.*.*
217.106.*.*
217.107.*.*

Those of you with blackhole host lists at home, you should block these as well, there is so much bad stuff on these blocks they should be avoided at all costs.

I have no idea if I can do that in my firewall. But I will find out, and learn something in the progress.

Thenks, Ed.

*@yandex.ru added to banlist. Ironic since yandex claims to be anti-spam.

We have no members from there. We still don't Wink

Should anyone from Yandex.ru contact me, I could remove the ban. But we'd need to discuss the small matter of a particular spammer using Yandex mail accounts to register SEO/reference spam entries in our memberlist. The door is closed but you can knock. My patience is getting thin with Moscow based ISPs.

aichyna.com (Belarus) added to banlist. Also tut.by who lives inside that domain.

Cleaned out about 40 memberlist spammers which had been admin-siezed. Their spamshots appear to have already happened, looking at Google.

95% of spammer accounts were not activated on this site. Banlists appear to be working well.

Yeah, I was just thinking the other day about how we haven't seen spammers in here in a long time (or Bam for that matter...where is he anyway?)

Anyway, great job ER! I may hit you up for that list.

PM me. For obvious reasons I don't really want to publish it.

Roger that. When I get to a point that I need them, I'll PM you. That way I'll get the latest/greatest list.

What I am actually impressed with is that the list isn't really that long and it isn't perceptibly messing with the site's response time. I am studying it somewhat these days.

Here is the IP Range banlist as of 28 August 2006. I've been promising that I'd provide it.

some bans are wider than intended (stupid phpBB doesn't let me mask).
Apologies in some of those cases. Probably of no consequence in others.

Where I know which kind of spammers, you can see in the list.
