Since the new SETI enhanced showed up, my cpu time has more than doubled. I know I'm not the only one that has seen this. My question is that on my main machine I am running ver 4.19 of the BOINC client. Would upgrading to the newest improve my crunching time? (I have the latest version on a few older machines but I like 4.19 the best).
I am not looking for suggestions to run an optimized version, just simply the newest version. It is written to better handle the enhanced stuff?

4.19 ?
we've been on 5.2.12 for ages ....

I had to take out the enhanced from cruncher clients .xml files
and boinc is on 5.4.9

it won't get the times faster.
these new enhanced work-units are supposed to be worked on seriously .....
instead of 1.3 hours, i have various wus
5-30 hours
the celeron system is worse of course.
used to be 16hours, now it's 44+
but you claim equivalent credit for the time taken
so RAC shouldn't change

once again I will mention that its about the science not how fast you get through a WU. And yes the new enhanced versions take more time depending on what the Process actually sees on the WU. With my AMD athlon64 3200 takes anywhere from 4-8 hours to do a WU. Some of the WU's crunch quickly at 2-3 hours. Please note that the enhanced WU's are no longer based on how whetstone Drystone benchmark returns. The credits are solely based on information returned and the match from processor to processor
