So boinc manager starts and gives me this crap about not being able to connect to any computer.

If I START seti manually, then boinc manager will connect, but I'm stuck with a dos box.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I've found that lots of other people seem to be having similar problems.

Any ideas would be appreciated...

(Oh, and I've already tried installing the newest version.. didn't change anything)

I had put some optimised bits in one of mine.
lucky, I had copied the directory before.
deleted, copied it back. running again now.

another one played up, with all work suspended.
when restarted activity, it lost connection.

with it looking at the activity suspended, at least it is connected, I reset the project.
it stays with the project and knows your account string.
just throws the wus, and gets new ones.
like when the computer has been off for two weeks. nopoint crunching old wus.

woot, 6 years birthday in Seti yesterday (here) / today (USA).

I ended up removing everything in the registry and re-installing boinc...
this is one of the big issues with Boinc... when it breaks, it breaks good.

fixed it

had to bring up "attach to computer"

and then blank out both fields.. it then picked up localhost..

odd..
