|
OK this really bugs me. I work during the day and can't get a TV into work let alone cable so I can watch the games. So i look online assuming that NBC or some country would have some sort of broadcast for some part of the games. I was looking for USA hockey Mens and womens in particular. Then I find out that the Olympics have very specific rules on what is broadcast and where it is broadcast and who broadcasts it. So much for the feel good Olympics. Apparently, its all about the revenue... thats cash money to you and me. So NBC is only allowed to show the Olympics on specific channels on TV from MSNBC, CNBC, USA, and of course NBC. There are no radio broadcasts of the games and most certainly not any kind of cast on the net. What bullshit this is 2006 not 1896. time to wake up and smell the coffee and get into the modern era IOC /end rant |

Doesn't anybody work at work anymore , or am I living in the 1800s
I guess we're just spoiled with all the free crap we get on the 'Net.
The Olympics typically lose tens of $Billions of dollars (except Atlanta I believe), so they do need to cut their losses by not giving it away for free. |

On another note: we're doing fine over here. Watching some events at work and others, in the evenings, at home.
Things are going good. We've taken a huge ammount of medals for the little tiny nation that we are.
I'm really hoping all goes well and we nab the gold in hockey. Speaking of hockey - I'm not that updated: How is everything for the North American teams?

Hehe, probably did. Ah well... there is always Malt to amuse myself with.
Regarding the Swizzies on the 1/4: There was a huge debate over here if the team intentianally lost a game to get Switszerland in that game. I think it is possible and probable. Except for Holmström and our golie, of course.

The Olympics are on?
Just kidding... kind of... I think the Olympics are the biggest waste of time... How can someone be tagged "the best in the world" when there is no real measure of "the best" other than a panel of judges? When they make all of the events objective, rather than subjective, then I will tune in... until then... I will only watch the bobsled and skeleton in the winter and the swimming and track in the summer....
I realize there are a handful of other objective sports out there, but hockey sucks and the rest I don't care to think about... |

Figure skating is lame...
This being an international forum, I can see why some non-Americans would get offended, and I apologize if I've offended anyone.... the Olympics just aren't what the used to be... at least to me... Not sure if anyone else has that feeling... |

As a Detroit RedWings fan I agree Tomas Holmstrom is a Beast on the ice |
