Thanks for the welcome.

I have a FIC VA 503+ with 1MB cache and although it can handle 512Mb of RAM it slows down from 1000MB/sec to about 400Mb/s transfer rate with anything over 256Mb. I have never seen a 503+ forsale with the 2MB cache listed as a manufacturing option.

The PA-2013 is basically the sameboard in ATX format so all the rest of my hardware will transfer over with no problem.

I'd settle for either the 503+ or the 2013 as long as they have the 2mb cache.

The 2MB cache seemed to have problems at 100mhz FSB... Sad Smile

I had to baby it just right in order fer it to work right... Sad SmileShocking Smile

Hmmm...come to think of it...I might have one of the mobos (K6-2 500@550) at someone's house that I'm getting ready to swap that out fer a PIII mobo/CPU setup... Big Smile I should know later this week what mobo I sent over there... Big Smile

eBay #1... Big Smile
eBay #2... Big Smile

I could just ship you a mobo with a PIII (733mhz/133 socket 370) setup fer a few bucks plus shipping... Wink Smile

Sorry for the late reply. I have been off line for a couple of days.

Thanks for the offer but I am still having too much fun with SS7. If I have a need for more power I can always use the kids computer (ECS 755-A2 with Athlon64 3000+ and 1GB of RAM.) Interesting enough, not being a gamer, I do not notice much difference between it and my FIC VA-503+ with the AMD550 K6-II+.

After a little more research I found out that the limiting factor is the MVP3 chipset on the VA-503+ which can only handle 384MB of RAM. This would be the same for the PA-2013 regardless of the cache size.

I recently found an ECS P5SS-ME which uses the SiS530 chipset and supports 1GB of RAM. I'll see how much trouble I can get myself into with this board.

thanks again
