I do know that you can upload yer own avatar from yer own hard drive but that feature isn't turned on here. Big Smile

There's also a feature to allow remote hosting of them that is also turned off.

I never understood why Fido won't allow the upload/offsite options Undecided

I've never seen that abused in any other fora, and pretty much, they all allow it.


I think it's a whole lot of unnecessary work. But there has to be a reason.

I can understand not allowing uploading and not allowing offsite.

this way, if he doesn't like an avatar...it doesn't appear here. Keeps offensive (pr0n) avatars out easily.

The queue should be cleared again. And yes Rah. Yer right. That's the exact reason why we prevented people from linking to their own avatars. Well, that and the fact that people will down the road remove them, and the forum is last with a bunch of red "X"s. Very Happy

Oh. Guess I should clarify. The queue is clear, except for those that we'ren't the correct size. Some were way too big (pixel by pixel)

I've seen offsite options used and abused, abused a lot. In the the forums at Frugals World the sigs often has large jpg's, animated gifs, long rants about just about anything.... Some posts are about 5% of the tatal, 95% being sig... Granted is has improved lately. But it still annoying as shit.

Sure, sigs can be fun... But it is just a sig.

i did it according to what fido says to do I emailed it to him and he hasn't added it yet do we have to request all Avatars through this topic?
