Any UNIX/Linux sysadmins using webmin?
I'm looking for a webmin module that will allow for password changes, yet force the password to be changed on the next login.
The default module, "Change Passwords" does not include this functionality. |

An infinite number of monkeys pounding away on keyboards will eventually produce a report showing that Windows is more secure and has a lower TCO, than linux.

Well my requirements have changed, I need to be able to unlock accounts.
Damn wish I could remeber things the first time 'round. I already spent
a good chunk of time looking for a better password module. |

Well that is kind of a tough one. I have never used Webmin. If the account is locked because the password expired, then you would have to use the Chage command to reset their password expire date or just change their password. If the account is locked usermod -U would unlock it and usermod -L would lock the account.
You know what I would love to see. Grace Logins. With Netware, when a users password expires, you can set their grace logins, so that they can at least login one or more times and change their password.
I had looked into this a while back as well as doing forced password changes but I couldn't find anything. |

Quote:Saw a WebMin module name Pwd_exp. It was last update in 2002.
http://webadminmodules.sourceforge.net/?page=System
How ironic, early in the week the download link for that module was dead. On a whim I contacted the author, belive it or not 3 hours later the link was operational. He figured it was so old, no one would want it.
Anyho the module was obtained, but alas it's not compatible with AIX |
