I voted "Yes"; only because there wasn't an "I would be interested option". I can see this as being a cheap second PC(as stated in the article) that would be safe/r for surfing the web. True, I can buy a bunch of heap hardware and throw together a Linux system, but I am starting to appreciate systems with preloaded OSes. Plus I want to see what I can push to OS to do (nothing like having a PC for a week and pushing it so hard it breaks > ).
The other thing is it is a good, cheap system for the "non-computer savvy" type who only surf the web, check emails, and play solitare. They are a bit more protected from virii, malware and other nasties, but still have ease of use. I do see the Mac OS as being "user friendly" enough for basic PC users to switch to without having to learn new ways of working. Sure, the mouse is missing a button or two, but then again, for these users the right-mouse button is rarely used.
Anyways, just my 2 cents. |

It is a hypothetical question anyway. No such product has been launched yet. There is also a rumor that a new software package called iWork will be bundled in as well.. so it will have a productivity suite as well as all the nifty toys that are already built into Panther.
I would most certainly buy one, but I still might wait for Tiger. |

I voted no, since like Marauder I think it would be interesting, I don't think I'll be buying one (until I get a job ). |

I put I will be buying one but I was hoping you would supply the cash. Kinda like, "I will be winning the Lottery...." y'know, just as soon as I get around to buying a winning ticket.
I'd want one just to tinker around with. |

Looks interesting, I have to wonder about heat and how much it will pump out, since I warped my PB in less than a year.
But it does look interesting. |

Given that they are currently advertising it on the Apple startup page, we can have a good look at it now. As a browsing machine, it looks good. I can see having one of these in either the kitchen or guest room, with a small LCD and a wireless keyboard and mouse. It's at least as powerful as my kid's iBook. |

oohhhhhhhh talk to me edsion.....yah keep talking I like that....
I still love my iBooks. Not quite as impressed with the "footprint" style, I prefer the bowling-ball style for a desktop. |

Pricing up one of these pups, what's cool is you don't need an Apple monitor - any old CRT or LCD will do. Also you don't need an Apple keyboard and mouse, so your wireless Logitech will do. Hmm... So my kitchen system needs wireless, but can use a $200 15" LCD, and I need to think about if a wireless keyboard is worth it.
Internet radio in the kitchen. I like the thought. Wonder how Linda is getting on with the recipe thing. |

I'll be getting one next Saturday (1/22/05) when they hit the stores.
It is the Cube, re-visited. |
