Hmmm... that could be extremely nice for recording applications. But agreed... don't think I'll be forking over $700 anytime soon. |

Ipod is death. What costs 700 now will cost 200 in 4 years. |

Quote:The HyperDirve III provides 8 DIMM slots, each of which can take DIMMs up to 2GB in capacity (no on board RAM). So max capacity is now 16GB
am I reading this right? it doesn't come with the RAM?!
so, $700 for the ability to install 16GB of RAM to use for a HDD... and then another ungodly amount to actually aquire 16GB of RAM... yeah, I dont think I will be jumping on that anytime soon |

Yeah, well think about it.
1. This is a newer technology implement.
2. $700 USD is not enough to buy the crappiest 16 gigs of ram on earth.
3. You expect a good deal on something to replace a HDD?
4. I freekin' want one.
Wait a dang sec, that is an IDE interface?!? Why the HELL is that not SCSI320????? BS. I don't want one anymore (unless it's cheap) |

Good point. The bottleneck is at the IDE controller. |
