Man, that game was outrageous.

I would have never expected something like that to happen in any sporting event (outside of soccer in other countries)

Wow, I'm still watching footage, can't say I blame the Pacers players, I think I would have done the same.

However, I don't think they cannot afford to hold everyone involved accountable.

I'm still amazed

Some of them will be instant millionaires when the lawsuits ends.

Unfortunately, some of them will get money, but I don't think they deserve it. You throw shit at someone and you expect to get your ass kicked, whether that's an NBA player or Joe Schmoe on the street. Some punk throws a full cup at me and you can bet your ass I'm going after him. Luckily, that fat boy that came at Artest on the court probably won't get a dime.....same thing happened at a White Sox game: fans entered the field, got stomped by the Sox, and then got jail time.....trespass.

I'm glad to see they are getting suspension without pay...

Nice day-after fight at my alma-mater the following day...

Artest needs anger management. The asshole that came on the court needs jail time.

I disagree. The unwritten rule in sports is that if a fan comes onto the field he gets what he deserves and all rules are off. I think the same should apply to athletes. Once Artest went into the stands he broke the seal.

He deserves the punishment he got, and although the fans deserve to punushed too, they won't suffer as much.

How does that disagree with what I said? I'm not saying that being suspended the rest of the season is a bad punishment. I'm just saying that Artest has some emotional issues that need working out. And that the asshole that came onto the court should see jail time. And by asshole, I mean the fan that didn't belong there and got clocked, not the bench of them that are overpaid and wear silly uniforms. Wink

that was bad. If I had to manage a team, my first rule as a manager/coach is sportsmanship. I would have no problem cutting suspending or fining a player of mine that: left the bench in a fight, fights, needs a haircut/bath, or disrespects fans in anyway.
The players are professionals as are the police that arrest morons that disrupt games. A player should always concentrate on the court/field and ignore everything that isnt the game.

As a coach i would expect my team to follow my instructions without hesitation. IF they are told to st down they sit. to run a play they dont like, what ever the case. the coach is in charge and the refs keep the peace which didnt happen in detroit

One last thing on this ... I find it amusing that Artest didn't really go after Wallace (a big guy) when Ben Wallace went after him in the game... but then when the little guy throws a beer on him, he's out of control..

by the way... the beer thrower... 3 prior DUIs, he's not allowed to have alcohol in his possession and I forget what exactly it was, but he has a previous arrest for assault & battery (or something along those lines)... He looked like he was going into help the guy Artest was beating in the stands and then starts punching Artest...

I say stick em all in jail for a little bit...

And that tubby, jersey-wearing punk down on the court too... what a tool.

I WON'T be going out to buy Artest's new album this holiday season. Cool

well what do you expect...it was bound to happen in a sport with no boundries between the players and fans.
