anybody have a voodoo3 3k or better they'd like to trade towards a 32 meg TNT2 card ?

I've got a V3 3K AGP OEM sitting in my closet. Tell me why I would want to trade it for a TNT2 card? I've never used one, only 3DFX or ATI cards. I was going to put the V3 in the box I am building for my sister this spring but might be willing to trade if its a good card.

V3= 16meg, max color depth 16bit

tnt2 32 meg max color depth 32 bit.

I'm not sure you'd want to trade anyway tho

THe TNT2 generally spanks the V3 all over the place. It can be both AGP and PCI. The V3 does not have hardware support for 32 bit color while the TNT2 does.

ok

the card I have is the 32meg viper 770

and it does kick ass it also does agp4x while the voodoo3 only does agp 2x

the reason I'm thinking about trading away is because I'm gonna use the card for my lan box. pretty much all of the games that I'd be playing regularly on the lan box support glide, or are old enuff that the diffrences in the cards wouldn't matter

plus I'm pissed off at Nvidia, because of their lack of support for BeOS. ( Be had to BRIBE them to get enuff information to create a 2d only driver... and they still don't have OGL support in their drivers because Nvidia is on it's knees at the alter of M$)

the reason I said you wouldn't want to trade anyway, is because all you've ever used is 3dfx and ati, and you seem happy with them.

look into the card, and let me know if you're still interested

Gues it was desktop color that was 32 bit not games.

I would like to try a 4x AGP card. I upgraded to a V5 5500, it still only uses 2x but has 64mb video ram.

My sister does not play games so I can put my ATI card in her box.

Let me know the details of the trade.

BTW the V3 3K overclocks nicely to about 182 Mhz if you put a 486 fan on the heatsink. It also does not have the TV out feature.

The 5500 supports AGP 4X for sure. If you turn it on - you'll see a difference.

well, if you want to clean me out of NVidia products entirely we could talk about trading that v5500 and my GeForce DDR card as part of the deal too

it's the creative annihilator pro card 32 meg ddr. . .pretty sweet !

if not i'd still be very willing to work out something for the swap of just the tnt2 card for yout voodoo3k card

V5 5500 supports 4 sample FSAA and looks excellent but from my reading only V4 supports 4x AGP.
