Yea it was a schlacking!!! I was following it online. Omar Vizquel tied the American League record for hits in a 9-inning game with SIX!!!! He popped out in the 9th, or else he would have been the third player to get 7. That would have been awesome.

The real question is, can the Yankees stop this downward spiral?

downward spiral? they still lead by 3 1/2 games. Boston has had to play out of their ass to make it this close. I don't think that will continue. Boston always finds a way to screw it up. everybody loves to hate the Yankees (until they win a world series, then everybody is a fan) so this loss is getting a LOT more attention than it would if it was say... the Marlins.

Seriously?! They've won the World Series 26 times! They've won 1 out of every 4 world series played since they were formed in 1903. They're the NEW YORK F*CKING YANKEES for jeezus sakes!! - They ARE what great baseball is all about!

I was born and raised a proud Yankees fan - So laugh all you want - It wont change the fact that the Yankees are consistently the best team in baseball.

consider that they are willing to foot the bill of around $200 million a year while some teams are fortunate too keep the payroll down to $40 milllion. personally the Yankees, george steinbrenner, and bud seilig have ruined baseball for me. Its to the point that I just cant care anymore about a millionaire thats in a batting slump. in the real world he gets fired or his pay docked. Not in baseball where players have no incentive to do better.

I would rather see a base salary for every player and then incentives for batting and fielding. Do well and you get paid well. I can't see some league minimum player really giving his all when hes going up against the best team money can buy. DO the yanks even have a player that makes league minimum or is a rookie. Highly unlikely since they are fairly inept at training players in the minors they just buy the best from other teams. kind of a shitty deal for all the other teams and those teams fans.

Yankees have won 7 of 9. Sox lost last night to Seattle. So the the lead is still 3 1/2 games. Tigers lost 26-5 and no one cares. I love it when i'm right Smile
As for hating the Yankees cause they pay whatever it takes to win... how can you hate them for that? Isn't that the point? hate whatever team you cheer for because it isn't willling to compete.
