Well my gym teacher decided we were going to each of us start out own fantasy football league. He said pick from the NFL players that are currently in the NFL (no retired guys) and we needed to choose players for the "offensive positions not including the line"...
Well, I'll admit it right now, I don't know crap about football.
So my question for you is which players are the best to fill these positions? |

Well, you could just do like TOMax did last year and select the players of your favorite team. Tom is a Miami Dolphins fan. Or... you could pick the players that the pundits believe to be the best athletes in the game. Or... you could try to figure out which players will get the most opportunities to score, given their coach's tendencies and the level of competition at their position on their team.
Yahoo!'s default fantasy teams require two running backs, one quarterback, three wide receivers, a tight end, a place kicker and a team defense.
The point of being in a league is to draft players against the other team managers. Otherwise, everyone would probably pick the same players at every position.
The LWD fantasy league is covered here:
http://www.littleblackdog.com/viewtopic.php?t=26015
Note that our league commissioner has skewed this league significantly from most fantasy leagues by requiring individual defensive players, then by drastically increasing the number of defensive players included on the team. If you want to get a "typical" fantasy league experience, you probably want to join one that uses the standard team makeup. Yahoo's leagues are free and are easy to play. |

I can't tell you who is best...ask 10 different people who play Fantasy Football and you'll get 10 different theories...
I had my FF Draft yesterday...my team isn't great (I'll be looking for a new TE, I don't think LJ Smith is really gonna be worthwhile) but since I can't pick anybody that is alreayd on another team, this is who I wound up with:
Clinton Portis (RB)
Eric Moulds (WR)
Steve McNair (QB)
Isaac Bruce (WR)
Duce Staley (RB)
Eddie George (RB)
Byron Leftwich (QB)
Chris Chambers (WR)
Colts Defense
LJ Smith (TE)
Bears Defense
Kyle Brady (TE)
Josh Brown (K)
Doug Brien (K)
The first people to get drafted at each position in my league:
Running Back:
LaDainian Tomlinson, Priest Holmes
Wide Receiver:
Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison
Quarterback:
Peyton Manning, Daunte Culpepper
Tight End:
Tony Gonzalez, Todd Heap
Place Kicker:
Adam Vinatieri, Jeff Wilkins
Defense:
Ravens, Panthers
I'm also not gonna say they are the best at those positions...I particularly don't agree with a few of them. But, that's the way it went in my league. So take it as you will. |

Doom, if you can pick any players in the league, these guys are all good picks. |

I don't really have a favorite team... A few years ago the Denver Broncos kicked ass, but now they are getting killed... Didn't come close to making it to the playoff's last year.
Other than that you've made some good reccomendations, I think I can piece together a crappy (though hopefully kickass) team farely easily... |
