I've only touched a mac once and now have to the itch for a 12" powerbook.

Tested drove one at a fancy apple store ( what no coffee!!) and I did like the bluetooth / airport express.

He he he, it's Airport Extreme silly Razz not Delta Airlines Laughing

Serious now, if you're not too attached to the Bluetooth feature, take a look at the iBooks. In my opinion they make a better bargain. But then again, since you're already in the over $1000 range of laptops, and couple hundred gets you Bluetooth, better specs and the prestige.

For the price of a minimalist 12" PB, you can get a 14" iBook and max out the RAM and still be cheaper.

I tested both ibook, and powerbook.

Both nice machines

ibook, I have to wonder how the white plastic would hold up to stains your hands resting on the plastic. (Had white bucket seats once, great till they lost the luster)

powerbook: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I do love the feel of smooth metal.

edh, I have a white ibook that is still white. I write things on my hands with Sharpies, it will rub off on the white palm-rests and just wipes right off.

(yah yah stop writing on my hands)

I also have the older iBook that had a bit of metal/silver at the palm rests and it is showing scratches.
Not sure if this is a problem on the powerbooks or not, but thought I'd mention it, in case its cropping up for other people. Do powerbooks show scratches?

laptops to me arent for gaming.

Reason for thinking about mac is that learning tool and wireless/bluetooth implementation and the Unix based.

Leaning to the powerboook more and more. But damn apple care is 350 bucks, not sure if thats really worth it.

AppleCare definitely worth it. They don't make them like they use to, I hear too many horror stories about systems having problems, and more horror stories about Apple's customer service when in comes to such things.

Just got it today.

Lt Dan, he done bought me some stock in this here fruit company

First off Thanks Fedex for leaving a 1600 buck box on the outside door of my apartment complex, now that was smart. Confused

But so far I have started dinking around getting use to the navigation and desktop. Still not use to this 1 button mouse thing. Got my vpn setup easy enough. Still working on the wireless setup, have to connect to a netgear mr814 b wireless.

Access my win network without a hitch

Updated all the software pretty as you please.

I will say I do like it so far, the look and feel is great. Very Happy
