Just how safe would a case like this be with regards to radiation shielding? I remember reading way back where lexan cases were potentially health hazzards as there is no metal case to act as a shield (RF?) |

health hazzards? I think some one was lieing to you.... but you are right, metal cases are grounded to help keep out stray RF radation... but it is more for the computers protection then yours, if you happen to live next to a broadcasting tower, and you notice that your glass pc is unstable, that might be part of the reason, (though more likely it is because you cheaped out on the ram because you spent to much on your "glass" case.) |

The health hazaerd can't be that bad, because you can legally buy perspex cases, and they'd be banned if they let too much radiation out. |

The manufacturers of whole PCs (e.g.: Dell) certify that they comply with emissions standards. The manufacturers of individual components put the onus on the assembler to obtain that certification.
The issue here is not really a health hazard. It is unwanted radio frequency interference. You may notice that a television or radio placed directly next to your plastic case gets terrible reception. |
