Service packs are all the bug fixes and security updates. You dont see any added functinality unless you spend more money on thier next realease of windows...then again, you might not, hehe. From what I believe, service packs are just the combined files that you can download from the windows update site...but then again...I may be wrong. hehe

One of the big improvements is ATA100 compatability. Isaw a noticable improvement in my HD access.

Well sp2 fixes some compatibility issues with some hardware & some issues regarding IIS. My Counter Strike runs a little slower in sp2 than it did in sp1. Btw sp2 is seen to be weak as for CODE RED worm that can bring down your IIS in a giffy. |

there is also improved "emulation" under both SP1 and then again under SP2 for when you're running a program that doesn't "natively" run under NT
Like Duke Nukem or maybe DungeonKeeper Gold

I used to be able to use the apcompat tool under win2k to make it work
but it won't tonite for some reason
i think i'll need to reinstall sp2, and work out some config settings and see if i can figure it out again for ya
