I have followed the nVidia drivers tutorial on this website fully, it worked fine, until I logged out. Once I logged out I could not use 3D anymore...I saw why.

As it stated in the tutorial, I should delete the old XF86Config file and any temperary files (I also deleted the .old file with "XF86Config" as the name).

After I logged back in, as I've said, there was no more 3D support. I checked my X11 directory, and there it was! In all of its horror!! The XF86Config file! Its come back from the dead??

I deleted it, and the .old file with the bearing the same name. I rebooted...still no 3D support.

I checked my XF86Config-4 file, everything the tutorial told me to type in got erased or set back. For examples: The line "Load 'glx'" was gone, and the "Driver: 'nvidia'" line was set back to "nv".

I redid everything, even reinstalled the drivers and kernel for nVidia. It worked fine...until I logged out again...

You see, I do have to log out, to access "root" and to reboot back into Windows98 to take care of business. Whenever I do this, it seems, all my changes I did to the graphics drivers and config files are reset! [v]

Is there any other way I can fix this but to hammer my system? I really need help, or I will go mentel. :wevil:

Help me, please! <Dr. Shim starts sobbing> [Sad]

Dr. Shim
