This my friends, is the exact item I have sought for weeks now since I decided to "demonize" my case. Heck its appropiate as the Balrog scene was what influenced it (well that and maybe the fevor I was running then too ) either way, I now can visualize my idea and plan.. but I must ask...
What colors of paint would you use on this case? for sure black as a "base" color, but I should I spray in some read to give it a bit of texture? I am no spray-paint artist by any means, nor am I familar with how to get looks out them. I did have another thread on spray paint but....
As well, I would like to do smething with the front below the floppy. My original plan was to mout this head piece there, but then thinking about it I felt it was more of "top of the case" item. So now I am thinking a flaming pit of some sort (no real flames, but a mini-flame thrower idea I did joke with a co-worker on - rig it so when the HD seeks it opens the valves more and the flames get more intense.... what can I say I work retail its been snowing like mad and I been bored! )
Anyone know of a good acrylic flame kit? |

Don't know anything about acrylic flame kits, sorry.
So far I have changed out the LEDs which isn't much, I am waiting to get an extra 30 to 40 dollars I can splurg on this project. I plan on putting the candle holder in the top, and mounting a light bulb under it, to cause it to light up like its pictured elsewhere on the net.
As well I want to get a hande put on it. But so far I have swaped the blue led feet I put on there with orange ones, red led for power and a yellow LED for harddrive. only issue is I have a front panel 6 in one with a GREEN led which is really small and hard to get to and am timid to go after.
I will be ordering the handle tonight probally and some other small mods off a site - then look at spray paint. I am thinking of taking black and putting a coat or two of red over it and a another black one to get it to look sort of like the balrog. Problem is there is 3 feet of snow pratically outside and I know I cant keep this stuff in garage as the people I live with are pack rats and would get pissed if I had this in there.
So my biggest obsitical is a place to paint rihgt now. I cant leave it in the garage and I dont want to take them inside - so I may need to wait till warmer weather comes to do the painting but just order the parts for now.
Someone told me of a crackle spray paint but I can't seme to find it. all I see is a pre-colored type of spray paint. Usually gold and blue, or white and black. |

You should be able to get crackle paint at just about any hardware store. If you cant find it there then check craft stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Here is also a Link that shows how to get the effect with regular paint. |

Im not sure if its what your looking for, but last night at Walmart, I saw spray paint that lookes "hammered" when its sprayed on, giving it some texture. I am not really sure how to describe it, but if you head to your local Walmart, the cap shows what it looks like. |

I been to Wal mart, Home Depot and will porbally look at Hobby Lobby in the morning. I got some plastic spray paint that is black, but now I may see if I can exchange it for something like red, then do the whole crackle look with a red underneath and a black over it. My big issue is a place to paint. My current living coniditions are so that I have no garage to do this in. Essentially this house has one, but the people I live with have loaded it with stuff - they need a bigger place or a storage garage!!!
So for now I am ordering the simple stuff, I do want to get this going but with it being 10 or below out doors and NO ventilation inside this place. I miss my old house where my roommates just generally ignored what I did in my own space or the garage! |

Well looks like my mod is canceled on my current pc. Mini-Mean is dead. THe CPU fan fell off of it somehow and chared the processor and I am guessing destroyed the board too. What baffles me is I had no over heat protection! Alas it will be a feature I seek whenI rebuild.. this time with a Chieftec Case and ASUS Motherboard!!!!!! |

I have a server tower already from them, I want to get another matching case for it. Do the crackle job of black over the red finish, get the handles for it, and the lighted feet. I am gonna skip the window mod.
Now the need to find a damn place to spray paint that the people I live with right now will allow me to spray paint in. I also want to spray paint the metal parts of my glass desk, so I got quite a bit of painting I want to do.
As well I have used Asus for a while on other PC's, but I try not to get in a rut on stuff, but I think my mind is set on those cases and those boards. |

LOL HEy guys! I still plan on doing this mod (someyear - those who know meknow I take forever to do soemthing, but when I do its as rad as can be!)
Here is how he did it for his pinball machine Which I am sure can be modded to work with a PC (Plus I am a shack worker - though they dont bother teaching us small parts anymore )
here is what it looks like:
