Anyone have a PIII in the range of 600 - 800 they want to get rid of for a decent price? It must be an "E" model (100MHz FSB) I don't care if it's slot1 or Flip chip.

You know Spot, if I go for the Duron/Kt& combo I have listed in the General Hardware forum, I would then have a P3-700E FC-PGA processor that would need getting rid of. It is a retail chip that includes the Intel heatsink. I can't get it to overclock beyond 868, but I think it is something else than the processor. It's peak temperature at 868 is around 39C(1.7v). I have only had it for a couple of weeks, and it was brand spanking new when I bought it.

If you go that route and decide to sell it for sure, I'd be interested. That stock heatsink will come off in a heartbeat though. [ ]

Yeah the stock heatsink really blows. I haven't used it on the P3 at all. I have just used my PEP66

what do you consider decent price for brand new? I can get 650, 700, 733, or 800, all in 100MHZ FSB slot-1 or FCPGA |

I would prefer a 700 - 800 for around $100.

Sorry Spot, my 700 ended up being part of the deal. I felt like Glen Sather for a minute there, working out a three way deal. I ended up with an extra $20 in the end too!!

I'm assuming it's going to be a used one. And I'm quite hopeful. I know I'll end up paying more like 150 though.

just curious, did you get the 800 from price watch? I've never ordered anything online cause I've had friends that got burnt. If these people where strait with you though I may have a look see. |

I order most my stuff online. It's usually cheaper, and I've never gotten burned yet. (keeps fingers crossed). I ordered my 1.2 online with no problems.

I do most of my ordering online. if you get burnt you can always call Visa and complain, and they usually only hold you responsible for the first $50-$100 of the problem. and several of the card issuing companies don't hold you responsible for anything when you purchase online
Blame is for people who need a reason to be pissed off !
