The number "33" is on every bottle. I don't think anyone really knows why. They had a commercial a few years back making light of it but never explained what it stood for.

I am going to at least do that 5K next year, nattie, if not the half marathon. I've been hitting the tread mill pretty hard lately and have lost about 4 pounds the last couple of weeks so I'm getting there. I figure I'll stick with the treadmill through summer and start road work in fall.

BTW, did you notice that guy broke a record for the half marathon? Something like 1:08 I believe it was. He's a former Olympian.

I didn't see that... But I think it's great that you are thinking about participating in it next year...I will for sure... It's really so much fun!!! Congrats on your progress thus far!

Maybe I'll take a trip down and say hi for next year's marathon. I'm not planning that far in advance yet though. As for 68 minutes...is that a course record? Because while it isn't walking, it's not a half marathon record. Not sure what it is now, but I know that Paul Tergat ran a 59:17 in 1998, and Ridouane El Harroufi ran 61:3~ (don't remember exactly what) about a month ago.

Nattie, does your last name start with an 'H'? If so, you finished 718th at 4:39. I assume it's you since there was only one Natalie (sp?) in the race. If that's you, did you race with a relative by the same last name? Because he finished 1 second behind you.

If you ran a 4:28 with a bad knee.........that's an impressive time (to me) even if you didn't have knee problems. Good job, nattie!

His name is Phillimon Ranneck and it says that he was ranked twice as the worlds top runner by Runner's World magazine. It's not a world record but an event record. He said he was shooting for 63 minutes.

The full marathon winner was Scott Colford with a time of 2:40.11 (WOW Shocked

) which was his second straight MB marathon win. The top woman, names Christine Rockey, finished in 3:4.35.

Marathon was made by Peter Paul. It never had peanuts in it and it was pretty long by the candy bar standards back then. It was a chocolate covered caramel bar that was about 12" long... Tongue Smile

The original Marathon bar was named as such as it would last a long, long, long...time. Tongue Smile
