Is there any way at all, with any program avalible to burn 750mgs?

Apparently you can buy 90 and 100 minute CD-R's, but I have no idea where or how much they would be, and no...750 megs is not possible on an 80 min CD-R.

depends on what the 750 megs is for

if it's something you can compress then sure. you might even be able to save enuff space thru compression to get it on a standard 650 meg cd-r

as far as overburning tho, you'd need both a recorder AND software that will let you overburn. if your recorder won't support overburning then it doesn't matter how great your software is

as far as getting 750megs uncompressed on a 80 minute cd, it depends on who made your cdr's and who they were trying to please when they made them. I've used some of the KAO's for overburning back in the day and was able to get up to 720 meg on cd's only rated for 650. Of course back then there were quite a few cd-roms that wouldn't read outside the 650-675 meg "limit" anyway so it wasn't as grandiopse of an accomplishment as it seemed.

750 megs roughly is what is on a full music cd. It uses less error correction thats why it can hold +/-750Megs instead of 650Megs of a data cdrom. If it is a music cd then you don't have any problems

Personally, I've never been able to burn 705 megs before, nevermind 750. I think I burned a cd of mp3s once that was 79:53 in length and was approx 702-703 megs in size. Actually, I've heard that Metallica's 'Load' album was as long as it physically could be...it was 78:59 and they had to shave off a couple of repeats in 'Outlaw Torn' to be able to fit it on the album, so I dunno how 750 is possible. If you figure it out though, lemme know cuz I have a 715 meg file (home made movie, of course) to burn.

They use error code on a cdrom and not on a music cd. that is why a music cd is 746 Megs max if you rip it of a cd and a data cdrom is 650 Megs at its maximum use

see my remark earlier about needing a cd-recorder that will overburn that far . . .

i think i just got lucky with the KAO being able to squeeze it on. The only reason i even attempted it was because i was using "mastering" equipment that i had to setup for some lucky bastich to pretty much completely waste at my last employers expense

can you imagine spending $2500 on cd mastering equipment for some guy to make 530 meg backups of his equally over priced "flop-tical" drives to it ?

i was able to make the backups just fine on some crap-tacular generic 2x ide cd-rw, but this guy was in a position to justify getting the professional equipment so he went for it.

a stereo 16 bit stream of 74min at 44,100kHz has a total size of

2*16*(74*60)*44100 = 783216000 bytes

and that is 746.9Mbytes

So SGR , if you ever burned a music cd. The RCAA is listening so the answer is no. But if you ever did you filled a cd with more than 700Megs of data
