Hey all, well todays research topic is isolating the noise my two harddrives are making in their current location. Its more of a high pitched noise than anything else and all other searchs on Direction, Frozen CPU and a few other spots require I mount my drive into a 5.25 bay which I cannout do.

I have the Chieftec clone case that was big 2 years ago, but mine is a full tower. now I plan on filling those bays with other devices so this is why I cant really use them. So I was wondering what other solutions exist. I seen these strips but I am not sure if they will do the trick.

Any other tips or advice is welcomed - yes I did a lot of looking and so far all I see is putting them in 5.25 mounts, another one called for using some sticks but never showed them in use.

Rubber box method?

I carved up the packing foam from some of the Dell computers we received at work to fit in between, in front of, on the sides of, below and above my HDDs. Mufflles the noise quite a bit.

If you're adding optical drives, or more hard drives, you can probably do with external ones in order to free up 5.25" bays for the silencers. But since you already found your answer....

*whistles and walks away*
