Isn't there some kind of string of keys you can push during a Solaris 8 boot that will change the graphics setting... maybe a tab or a stop a or something?? Anyone familiar?

I know on a Sparc box you have a limited set of command options to change where you boot from and drop you into the monitor and single user. But nothing I remember can change video settings on the fly. Like stop-C boots from CDROM, stop-A drops you into monitor, etc.

try http://www.gunfleet.com/solaris/solaris1.htm or http://dbforums.com/arch/187/2002/12/631023 these might help.

change the graphics setting how? yeah stop-a is abort and then it knows a limmited command set, stop-d is the diagnostic, never had to change the m64 video settings on boot. But, outside of boot m64config -res 'video_mode' will do it for ya (on ultrasparc)
