that and the fact that i already have the perfect case for it ( Emachine.... long story) and a cerery2 566 so if i got one of those, all i'd need is a decent AGP vid card, and i'd be styling

not to mention that nobody would even WANT to tamper with my "E-machine" at a lan party *L*

i hide the "evidence" well

Found a place to buy it, but it's a japanese site. In fact, I found a bunch of japanese sites that sell it. This is the closest I could come...

It's Intels 815ep chipset and there is no intergrated video or audio... so it will be considerably cheaper. I haven't heard about the Intel ATA controller though. But i'm hopin no news is good news... If not i have a promise Ultra66. I will mod to get a raid setup due to i only have ATA66 drives.. The cable mod looks easy and no taking a chance soldering on the card dirrectly.

Ok i have played a little with this board and really don't like it that much. It is stable but the way the FSB/PCI/Ram is setup is boggling. I can only get my 800E to run 992 reliably and get into windows@1000 but then crashes after a short while. My BX6.20 will do 1032 stable for the most part and let me into windows @ 1064 and run for a while.
I have been reading all the shi* about the 815e and the 815ep contraversy and think ASUS kinna blew it with the Box saying 815ep. I personally don't care at this point, i just wanted to try this board out and not pay for the video. But if it won't support the next gen processor(Tulation)or whatever it's called like the EP chipset is supposed to, then I will be a little upset. But like i said i haven't spent that much time with it and haven't read to much on the "How to's" for Oc'in this board.

Sorry to hear that you're not happy with your new board. Two things come to mind that you might try if you haven't already. I've heard that the CUSL2 is picky when it comes to RAM, so you might try taking out the PC100 and leaving in the PC133 stick. Also, early BIOS versions for this board had some problems. Don't know which one you are using but ver. 1003 final has been around for awhile. I flashed with 1005.004 beta last week and had total stability at 1000 mHz, 166:166:41. I'm trying out 1005.006 beta right now and don't see any difference so far.

You have probably been to CUSL2.COM. It's where I get my BIOS updates and other info.

Good Luck,

- Ed.

BTW - You're really kickin' butt with the WU's! Approve Smile

166:166:41??????????? man that is quite a FSB you got goin there.... I can only get it to 124:124:39.. ( I need to check that again...) My Pci can't handle 41+... Havent flashed the bios but i haven't checked into a new rev. yet... Like i said i haven't played with it that much as it's not my primary system yet.. I just got it up and running so i could get more WU's out... Tongue Smile
Also don't have the water block for it yet. Soon, Soon!!!!!
