hey dudez.. im posted the same prob before in the same forums but i cant seem to find a solution for it ( besides getting an external notebook cooling pad and i didnt like the idea of having such cooling pads on my laptop base.. ) .. i have a toshiba satellite 5205-s703... and while playing games the cpu temps go to 90 Degrees Celcius ( 190 degrees farhenheit ) ...... the fan does turn on in between but still the temps dont go lower than 85-86 degrees celcius while playing. My idling temps are around 58-60 Degrees celcius .. I use Speedfan and SiSandra Benchmarking prog to detect the cpu temps! .. my laptop specs are :
p4-m 2 ghz
512 mb ddr
Win xp sp 1
Plz advise
Thanks |

Well...what kind of solutions do you want?
I'd say...get one of them Centrino models. I hear they run pretty cool and they're not a hog on power. |

lmao i was looking at a more cost effective solution rather than spending Us $1500 + ..... and i like this laptop besides the fact that it gets too hot... dont u think 90 degrees celcius would damage / melt the components inside??? |

Get a pan a little bigger than the laptop and fill it with ice. Put some plastic wrap loosely over the top of the pan and place the laptop on top. Make a small hole in the bottom of the pan to let the water drain out through a hose into a bucket on the floor.
Check the ice level often and replenish before it all melts. Make sure the water doesn't rise up and submerge the laptop or leak out onto your pants. Neither of those would be too pleasant.
If the pan is deep enough you could even chill your beers at the same time and have them readily within reach at all times |

I'm guessing that yer laptop is still under warranty? If so, you want to stick with an external solution. The external fan setup would be one of yer best options... |

ye i alreayd have a external fan.. it helps reduce my idling temp.. but when i play games... it just reduces the temps by around 2-3 degrees celcius..
Yes i still have my warranty.. warranty expires next month |

Laptops run hot. If its not actually having problems I wouldn't worry about it. |

Hmmm, games on a laptop eh? what will they think of next. BTW, its probably cheaper to build yerself a desktop gaming rig, even a real cheap one will piss all over that spec'd laptop in terms of speed and quality. |
