Had a neat thought about modding the power button and the reset button on my comp since I'm continually redesigning the front on one of my comps.

Snag a single pole dual throw (SPDT) momentary toggle switch and combine the power and reset functions to that.

To start, remove the wires and button from the mobo. Clip the tiny momentary switches off of the wires, add some heatshrink tubing down the wires, and strip/solder the wires to the toggle switch lugs. The top lug will get the colored wire fer the power and the bottom lug will get the colored wire fer the reset. The black/common colored wires will get soldered to the middle lug. Cover the lugs with the heatshrink and heat the heatshrink with a blow dryer to secure in place.

Locate a decent spot on the faceplate and drill out a ¼" hole to secure the toggle switch to and fasten the toggle switch to that. Connect the wires to yer mobo and yer in business! Smile

All I would need to do to power the comp is just press the momentary toggle switch up. To reset the comp, press the momentary toggle switch down. Kinda like starting one of them thar NASCAR racing cars up... Big Smile

It's only an idea at the moment until I get back to my brother's comp so I can make the mod. I'll be sure to snap a few pictures of the mod in process as well as the case front that I made from scratch. Smile
