Plll 800 oc'd 1032 (mine)
You really are movin' up, Artstar - 17 to 63 in just a few days! Not only will Hummer pass me soon but you will too. But As a team member I must applaud you. [^]
I was wondering what you're doing to oc to 1032: core V, BIOS settings ect.? With mine, I'll get occasional error messages at 1000 mHz and it gets really unstable any higher than that. [ ]

I don't know if I will pass you Ed. I seem to have been close for days, and then you pull away, and then I catch up, and then you pull away. The closest I have been is 3 behind you. Right now I am 6 behind. I need another computer.

Thank you ED. Team is what it's all about. Competition is fun and you guys gave me something to strive for. This site is about the longest i have stayed around anywhere. I have never posted so many messages either. It's great when you can have discussions and not get FLAMED when you might be mistaken.
I actually bumped it down to 994 MHz. Stock sink and fan. Need to get better cooling. 1032 not rock solid but does run good. A little warm though. I got a couple of errors with ICS until i backed it down. Go figure. It will post on 133MHz bus but no windows. Need MORE Vcore..
Abit BX6 rev.2 Bios rev 12/99
Abit slotket (auto)
core 1.80
124 FSB
128 megs Infineon PC 133 cas 2
128 megs Micron PC100 cas 2 (settings are at 2-3-auto)
Voodoo 3 3000 has active cooling ( a pentiun sink and fan replacing the stock sink.)

Another one?! You have at least 2 for SETI now. You're getting closer all the time: pretty soon we'll be playing leap-frog! Smilie kinda looks like a frog to me when it smiles. ribit

Yes... higher core voltage could be a factor. I haven't tried higher than 1.75 although this CUSL2 will go to 1.95V. (cautious/chicken?) But now I think I'll bump it up a bit. Also, there's a new Beta BIOS out that I have not tried yet.
- Later.. Ed. |

Ed, Was wondering if you are happy with the CUSL2 MB?
I am seriously thinking about buying that board. Well the CUSL2-C.

Yes!! I'm very happy with it. I've had it for four months with no problems that couldn't be fixed with a BIOS update.
You probably read Fido's link to the review yesterday and also the many more out there. I personally have had no problems with ATA 100 or with memory. It's rock solid stable at 960 mHz (160/160/40) and Vcore 1.65. That's with Mushkin PC 150, 1x128MB. Right now it's at 1026 mHz (171/128/43) at 1.8v. Took a big memory hit going from 160 to 128. Maybe that's why pages are loading slow...or maybe it's my connection or my modem doesn't like 43. No probs with the hard drive.
I have read of a problem with AGP 4X at FSB over 140 but there is also a fix for it. I can't say since I haven't gotten a good vid. card yet. Need a better monitor first!
If the CUSC2c is the same except for leaving out the video which is crappy anyway, I would recommend this board. It's a real cool board. Been waiting for an excuse to use that one!

Thanks Ed. There is a pewter show on the 17th and i think i'm gonna take the plunge and snag one. I just hate to retire my BX board to the server(storage pc).. It has been very reliable...
But i like new challenges and this one might be cool.[ ]
