Have LM8 installed on 2 machines at the house. KT7A and a BP6. Both where/still running fine.
KT7A has a modem to connect to the internet. I threw a 10/100 nic into it and tried to connect to my BP6 which als ohas a 10/100 nic. Bouncing through a hub.
During setup I gave each machine its own address 192.168.0.6 192.168.0.7. However I cant get them to see each other but they seem to be hammering the hub (send/rec lights going nuts). I tried pinging each machine but it hangs up on pinging 192.168.0.1 even though that isnt what I typed. Is that my hub? It gave it an address.
I know the hub works because I have used it on my wink2 network that I had going.
Any help?? How do you successfully network 2 linux boxes?? |

Did you install and ran the ping-service on the other machine. Don't think it is enabled by default.
Easiest way to network 2 linux boxes to share a internet connetion is with one of the programs in Control center. (It's the one with share and internet in it's name) |
